We are excited to celebrate the award of an American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship supporting their research project:
Identifying Genetic Risk Factors for Vascular Calcification
Award: $70,676
Project Period: July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2028
This innovative research will investigate how non-coding genetic variants contribute to vascular calcification, a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease. By combining cutting-edge genomic approaches—including Massively Parallel Reporter Assays, computational modeling, and CRISPR interference—the project aims to identify genetic variants and target genes that drive vascular calcification.
The findings have the potential to advance our understanding of cardiovascular disease and lay the foundation for new predictive biomarkers and therapeutic strategies.
