Celebrating CICMD Trainee Excellence at the 2026 UF Medical Guild Awards

We are proud to celebrate two outstanding CICMD trainees for their recent achievements—congratulations to Sophia Eikenberry and Jacob Ricci!

Sophia Eikenberry was recognized as a Silver Award Winner at the 2026 UF Medical Guild Graduate Research Symposium for her presentation, “Harnessing the Power of Circadian Biology in Cardiovascular Disease,” under the mentorship of Michelle L. Gumz. Her work highlights the critical role of circadian mechanisms in cardiometabolic health—an area central to CICMD’s mission.

Jacob Ricci was honored with the Thomas C. Rowe, PhD Advancement to Candidacy Award, recognizing his academic excellence and progress in doctoral research under the mentorship of Katelyn A. Bruno.

These prestigious awards, supported by the UF Medical Guild, celebrate some of the brightest graduate researchers across the College of Medicine. We are incredibly proud to see CICMD trainees recognized among this exceptional group.

Please join us in congratulating Sophia and Jacob on these well-deserved honors! Their work exemplifies the innovation, rigor, and collaborative spirit that define CICMD.
