Using technology for blood pressure control and quality improvement
Dr. Mark Pletcher is an epidemiologist and a general internal medicine physician at the University
of California San Francisco. His research is designed to inform clinical decision-making and policy
relevant to primary care and prevention. His focus is on the prevention of cardiovascular disease, and
have particular interests in early life causes of atherosclerosis, primordial and primary coronary
heart disease and stroke prevention, clinical decision-making regarding the use of preventive
medications (statins and anti-hypertensive medications) and screening for subclinical
cardiovascular disease.
